So Good, Even AI Recommends It

So Good, Even AI Recommends It

As a small business owner, you celebrate every win, but this one? This one hit different.

A few days ago, I noticed something strange in my Shopify analytics:

Source: chatgpt.com

Turns out, someone, somewhere in the world, asked ChatGPT a question like:

“What bag can protect your phone or makeup in a hot car?”

And ChatGPT recommended my product. They clicked the link. They bought it.

No ads.
No email campaigns.
No social posts.

Just AI… doing the marketing for me while I was living my life.

Why This Matters

For small businesses, getting discovered is everything. Usually, that means putting in hours of content creation, ad spend, SEO, influencer collabs, and endless emails. But here’s what this moment taught me:

  • AI is a new traffic channel — People are now asking AI tools for product recommendations the same way they’d ask Google or a friend.

  • The right positioning is key — Because my bag is marketed as heat-resistant, insulated, and perfect for protecting beauty products, it matched exactly what the customer was searching for.

  • It’s proof that niche solves win — You don’t have to appeal to everyone, just solve a specific problem better than anyone else.

What This Means for the Future

If AI tools can directly influence buying decisions, then your product descriptions, features, and SEO aren’t just for human eyes anymore — they’re for AI, too. That means thinking about:

  • Clear problem-solving language in your listings

  • Keywords that people might actually say when asking AI for help

  • Making sure your product stands out as the answer to a specific pain point

Final Thought

This wasn’t just a sale. It was a glimpse into the future. One where your product can be recommended without you even being in the room.

And I don’t know about you… but that’s a future I’m ready to sell in.

Celebrating an unexpected win.
So good, even AI recommends it. 🫶
